We encounter who God is and can see the different attributes of God as we read through the story of scripture. It is through the entire bible as a unified story that we can begin to see what it means for God to be good or any other attribute.
As a group take some time to meditate upon how you have seen the goodness of God in your time in the word. Outside of what Nick shared where are places in the library of scripture that you see the goodness of God on display?
Specifically within the gospel narratives how do you see Jesus demonstrating the goodness of God?
Where in your own life have you seen the goodness of God? Where has it been hard for you to hold the tension of the goodness of God with the reality of a difficult situation?
How does reflecting on the “goodness” of God confront your definition of “goodness” and what it means to partner with Him in advancing the Kingdom?
What hymns, songs of praise, poetry, art, or other media help you meditate on the goodness of God?
Take some time to pray around the goodness of God.
Pausing to slow down and be sensitive to the Spirit and aware of ourselves.
Rejoicing in the goodness of God in your own life and in the library of scripture
Asking for the empowerment of Spirit to embody and demonstrate “goodness” in our own lives through holding to Jesus.
Yield to the work of the Spirit in your life and for one another.
