Daniel 1:1-21, 6:1-27 // In the face of pressure, God calls us to be a faithful presence. Because we are made in the image of God — here to make the invisible God visible. You’re the priest of your office or classroom or home or job site. You’re God’s representative.

 
 

Reflection Questions

FOUR POSTURES WE CAN HAVE TOWARD THE WORLD:

  • Defensive against - at war

  • Purity from- disengage

  • Relevant to- can be indistinctive

  • Faithful presence- engaged but embodying God and the fruit of the spirit. Being the light, the aroma of christ, living properly with honorable behavior.

  1. Be wise and winsome.
    What are some of the challenges and frustrations that you face at work? Where are you prone to negativity and complaining? Where can you be a creative and wise solution finder?

  2. Model integrity and diligence
    Our job is to mirror and mimic what God is like, to make the invisible God visible, God's representative. Is this true of you in your work place? Is there anything of which you need to repent?

  3. Practice prayerful dependence
    Prayer shaped who Daniel was and fostered his dependence on God. Being led by the Holy Spirit can open opportunities for us to make much of God. How can you increase your practice of prayerful dependence to make you a faithful presence?

  4. As this series comes to a close, what has been the main take away? Where have you felt the conviction and challenge of God?
