Tables & Sinners – Whose Image Is On That?
Luke 20:19-26 // If there is conflict, the choice – for a follower of the Kingdom of God – is to submit to and serve the One in Whose image you were made. We are stamped with an image. What does that mean? With God, we have enormous value. Am I looking for the Imago Dei in people – especially those who frustrate me?
1. Nick talked about being a citizen of heaven. That our primary identity is as children of God. Our choices and decisions and lifestyles should align with the kingdom of God. What are some of the ways that you are experiencing pressure from living as citizens of heaven in a world that imposes different values?
2. Humanity is the pinnacle of God's creation. They bear the image of God (imago dei) and are endowed with dignity and great value. How do you intentionally look and discipline yourself to look for the good, to forgive, to bear with especially with those that are different from you.
3. As humans we are created for intimate relationship with God and with fellow man. What are some challenges and or successes you have found in this area?
4. We were designed to bring order out of chaos as bringers of God's kingdom. How does this play out for you in this season? In what ways is it easy and in what ways is it hard?
5. We were designed to bring glory to God by enjoying him fully. What practices or disciplines do you have in place to facilitate your relationship with and enjoyment of God?
6. Spend a few minutes gazing on, speaking out, reminding or praying about the person and work of Jesus, who is the most profound image of God.
